Who We Are

The world's most valuable brands no longer compete solely on the quality of their products. They compete on the quality of the experiences they create.

Long before someone checks into a hotel, attends a sporting event or books a once-in-a-lifetime journey, they have already formed an impression through a screen. We founded Maverick Social on a simple belief: the digital experience should be every bit as extraordinary as the real one.

Established in Dublin in 2022, Maverick Social is a six-person independent agency specialising in digital strategy, storytelling and cinematic content production for luxury hospitality brands and elite sports organisations.

From the beginning, our ambition has been simple: to help exceptional brands discover what makes them truly distinctive, then build creative ideas around that truth.

In luxury hospitality, that meant challenging the assumption that beautiful rooms sell hotels. In elite sport, it meant recognising that fans don't simply want more highlights; they want greater access, deeper insight and a stronger emotional connection to the people behind the competition.

Every project begins the same way. We don't start with cameras or content formats. We start by asking a single question:

What is the real source of value that nobody else is talking about?

Only once we've answered that question do we begin to think about the creative expression.

That philosophy has allowed us to compete against agencies many times our size. In just three years, we've become trusted partners to brands including Adare Manor, the DP World Tour, SailGP and the Ryder Cup — not because we produce more content, but because we help clients see their brands differently.

We call this philosophy Excellence in Motion: the belief that exceptional work is defined not by the size of the team behind it, but by the quality of the thinking that shapes it.

The three case studies that follow are not our biggest productions. They are the clearest demonstrations of how strategic thinking creates commercial value.

Each began with a different brief.

Each uncovered a different insight.

Each changed the way a client told its story.

Adare Manor

Adare Manor: Carefree Abundance

01
The Brief

In early 2025, Adare Manor was rebuilding its website and required a new hero film to autoplay as prospective guests explored the resort and considered making a booking.

The conventional expectation was straightforward: showcase the bedrooms, restaurants, spa and activities.

But Adare Manor is not a conventional hotel. Consistently ranked as Ireland's finest resort, it competes not with other Irish properties but with the world's leading luxury hotels. We saw this as an opportunity to create something extraordinary.

02
The Thinking

So we began by considering the Adare Manor Guest…

The Adare Manor guest already inhabits the world luxury hospitality seeks to represent. St Moritz in winter. The Côte d'Azur in summer. Luxury is not an aspiration for this audience. It is their normal.

This is not an audience looking to be impressed. They have already seen the marble bathrooms. They have already eaten in Michelin-starred restaurants. Another montage of beautiful interiors would not change their mind.

Instead, they are looking to feel understood. The finest brands reflect their customers' values and quietly signal, "This was made for someone like you."

Our film would immerse the viewer in a world where everything feels effortless, where every detail has already been anticipated and luxury is experienced as ease rather than extravagance.

03
The Insight

Adare Manor should not sell rooms.

It should sell a lifestyle of carefree abundance.

Once we had defined that emotional territory, every creative decision became clear.

04
The Execution

Rather than referencing hospitality advertising, we looked to the world's finest luxury houses. Hermès. Dior. Loro Piana. Brands that communicate luxury through confidence, restraint and texture rather than excess.

Every frame was designed to feel lived in rather than staged. Wardrobes were selected not for fashion, but familiarity. Rimowa luggage. Bottega eyewear. Vintage cars instead of immaculate supercars. None of these details announced themselves. They simply reassured the right audience that they belonged in Adare.

The visual language also shifted between formats. Expansive cinematic wides celebrated the scale and beauty of the estate, while Super 8 emulation introduced warmth, intimacy and nostalgia, making the experience feel remembered rather than observed. Polaroid photography became another deliberate signal. In an era of disposable smartphone imagery, it suggested something worth keeping. A quiet code understood instinctively by an audience that increasingly values permanence over convenience.

Every creative decision served one purpose: not to impress the viewer, but to make them feel recognised.

05
The Impact

The response was immediate.

Within weeks, luxury hotels across Ireland were approaching Maverick Social after recognising a fundamentally different approach to hospitality storytelling. Rather than requesting another hotel film, they wanted the same strategic approach applied to their own brands.

Projects with Ballyfin, Killarney Park and other leading properties soon followed, each seeking to move beyond showcasing facilities towards expressing a way of life.

The work did more than reposition Adare Manor online. It demonstrated that luxury hospitality could be marketed through identity rather than inventory, helping establish Maverick Social as one of Ireland's leading specialists in luxury hospitality storytelling.

"Adare Manor has worked with Maverick Social since 2021, and we were proud to be one of their very first clients. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch the agency grow over that time. Their team has consistently evolved, embraced new ideas, and continued to experiment with energy, creativity and genuine passion, while always maintaining an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional work.

As Maverick Social has grown, so too has the scope and ambition of our work together. They have developed a deep understanding of the Adare Manor brand, our values and the standards we expect, allowing them to produce content that is both authentic and impactful. Their collaborative approach means they feel like an extension of our own marketing team, bringing fresh thinking while always respecting and enhancing our brand identity.

Maverick Social combines creativity with professionalism and continues to be our trusted partner."

Dromoland Castle

Dromoland Castle: The Warmth of a Truly Irish Welcome

01
The Brief

Dromoland Castle appointed Maverick Social to create an ongoing stream of social-first content capable of growing the resort's profile while remaining true to the guest experience.

The content needed to feel premium without becoming overly manufactured.

The conventional answer would have been a steady stream of cinematic room tours, food photography and sweeping drone shots. Beautiful content, certainly, but largely indistinguishable from every other luxury hotel online.

We believed Dromoland needed something only it could own.

02
The Thinking

Dromoland has never positioned itself as Ireland's grandest luxury hotel. Instead, it describes itself as "a self-contained world of light-hearted luxury," where warmth, humour and genuine Irish hospitality are every bit as important as five-star service.

If Dromoland was never going to win by claiming to be the most opulent, we needed to understand what guests actually remembered.

So we analysed guest reviews to understand why people returned. The answer was remarkably consistent. Not the bedrooms, the food or even the castle.

It was the people.

Every interaction reflected the same effortless warmth, humour and generosity. It wasn't something manufactured by marketing. It was simply the culture of the resort.

That became the strategy.

03
The Insight

Dromoland's greatest luxury isn't the castle.

It's the people who make guests feel at home inside it. People build relationships with people, not buildings.

Rather than creating standalone campaigns, we developed a recurring content platform that would introduce audiences to the personalities behind the guest experience.

Over time, viewers wouldn't simply recognise the castle. They would come to know the people inside it and look forward to meeting those people when they arrived themselves.

04
The Execution

Characters of the Castle

The premise was deliberately simple.

Members of the Dromoland team wore discreet microphones and were given only the gentlest prompts: talk about your day, the weather, anything at all. Rather than filming interviews, we observed from a distance using long lenses. The camera became an eavesdropper rather than an interviewer. By removing lights, formal setups and structured questioning, we removed performance itself.

The resulting films felt intimate, unmanufactured and authentic. Viewers weren't watching branded content. They felt as though they had stumbled across genuine conversations. Most importantly, the warmth wasn't performed. It was simply revealed.

05
The Impact

The series resonated immediately.

Guests who had stayed at Dromoland recognised why they had fallen in love with the property, while prospective visitors consistently commented that it was the people, rather than the castle itself, that made them want to visit.

One episode in particular, Characters of the Castle: Porters, generated more than 500,000 views before being picked up by RTÉ.

For a hotel competing against significantly larger marketing budgets, that level of earned media from a single piece of content represented far more than a successful campaign. It validated the strategy.

By revealing the people behind the brand rather than simply promoting the property, Dromoland proved that in luxury hospitality, warmth, captured honestly, will always travel further than polish alone.

"Working with Maverick Social has become an extension of our own marketing team. Their creativity, energy and flair for storytelling have brought Dromoland Castle's unique character and guest experience to life in a way that feels authentic and engaging.

The team truly understands the luxury nature of our business and the need to create an emotional connection with our audience. Their professionalism, collaborative approach and ability to consistently deliver high-quality work make them a pleasure to work with."

DP World Tour

DP World Tour: Taking Fans Inside the Ropes

01
The Brief

Maverick Social works with the DP World Tour on retainer, producing social-first content across selected Rolex Series events.

The brief was clear: create a digital content strategy that reflected the elevated nature of the Rolex Series while giving fans a compelling reason to engage beyond the television broadcast.

The challenge was not to produce shorter versions of broadcast coverage.

It was to create content only the DP World Tour could make.

02
The Thinking

We began with one question.

What does the DP World Tour possess that nobody else does?

The answer wasn't the golf. It was the access.

Modern sports fans don't follow social channels simply for highlights. They follow the accounts that take them somewhere they cannot go themselves: beyond the ropes, into practice rounds, into conversations with caddies and coaches, and behind the scenes with the world's best players.

Exclusive access transforms a social channel from a distributor into a destination. If fans know they'll repeatedly discover something unavailable anywhere else, they return, follow and engage.

That became our strategy. Rather than competing with broadcasters to show the golf, we would reveal everything surrounding it.

03
The Insight

The DP World Tour doesn't own the game. It owns access to it.

Every idea had to use the Tour's unique access, relationships or authority in a way no other publisher could credibly replicate. That became our creative filter.

04
The Execution

Access became the foundation of a series of recurring content formats, each designed to make fans feel as though they were walking inside the ropes alongside the world's best players.

  • 01. Ultra Zoom

Wide cinematic frames punctuated by dramatic crash zooms into the moments television rarely lingers on: conversations with caddies, final preparations and quiet pre-round rituals. The focus wasn't the shot itself, but everything surrounding it.

    Add Ultra Zoom footage here
  • 02. ASMR
    ASMR

By removing commentary and music entirely, we recreated the experience of standing on the course, leaving only the sounds of footsteps, clubs, birdsong and impact.

  • 03. Mic’d Up
    Mic'd Up: Justin Thomas

    Mic'd Up: Justin Thomas

Players wore discreet microphones during practice rounds, giving fans unprecedented access to conversations with caddies and coaches, technical adjustments, tactical thinking and moments of humour.

Most importantly, the format revealed personality. Sport may be built on competition. Fandom is built on people.

    Add Mic'd Up footage here

As trust developed, players became active participants, often suggesting ideas themselves and inviting cameras into moments previously unseen by audiences. Although every format looked different, they all pursued the same objective: to transform passive viewers into insiders.

05
The Impact

The approach quickly became central to the Tour's digital strategy.

Since Maverick Social's appointment, our remit has expanded from one Rolex Series event in 2024 to six events in 2026, reflecting the Tour's growing confidence in both the strategy and its execution.

The relationship has since expanded beyond tournament coverage into content development for the 2027 Ryder Cup, while the trust built through our work on Tour also led to Rory McIlroy becoming a direct client and business partner.

Engagement has continued to grow, with recent content regularly reaching hundreds of thousands of fans, including a Rory McIlroy film viewed more than 585,000 times within its first week online. Mic'd Up has become one of the Tour's most popular recurring content formats, demonstrating fans' appetite for content that brings them closer to the personalities behind elite golf.

The strategy proved a simple principle.

Broadcast lets fans watch the game.

Access lets them experience it.

"We've really valued our partnership with Maverick Social across both the DP World Tour and Ryder Cup. The team consistently delivers high-quality creative work that elevates our biggest events while bringing something genuinely new to our fans. They're fresh-thinking, proactive and collaborative, and always go above and beyond to bring ideas to life."

— George Cryer, Head of Digital, DP World Tour

Conclusion

The case studies in this submission span luxury hospitality and elite sport — different audiences, different budgets and different challenges. Yet each began with the same belief: the most valuable creative ideas are rarely found by asking how to make something look better. They are found by asking what truly makes it different.

For Adare Manor, that meant recognising that luxury guests wanted to feel recognised rather than impressed.

For Dromoland Castle, it meant revealing that the property's greatest luxury was not its castle, but its people.

For the DP World Tour, it meant understanding that the Tour's greatest competitive advantage was not the golf itself, but the access surrounding it.

That is the philosophy on which Maverick Social has been built.

In just three years, we have earned the trust of some of the world's most prestigious brands not through the size of our agency, but through the quality of our thinking. As a six-person independent team, we have shown that strategic insight, creative ambition and close client partnership can outperform scale.

We call this Excellence in Motion: the belief that every brief deserves to be approached with curiosity, every idea with intention, and every execution with uncompromising care.

For us, success has never been measured by the volume of content we produce. It is measured by the strength of the relationships we build, the confidence clients place in us, and our ability to help brands discover and express what makes them truly distinctive.

We believe that is what defines a great small agency.

We hope you do too.
